Relax into the general of things
How do we return to course, to feeling the wind behind us, underwing, a little ease, a little effortlessness? in the groove, aligned, harmonizing, even synchronous with life again?
For this, I love to think of things more generally at first. For example:
What are we made of?(Contemplative Psychotherapy calls this, Basic Attendance, and we can apply it to ourselves or to someone we love. We practice resetting our mindset by looking at what we are made of and all that connects us on a most basic/general level.) What rhythms are already in motion in us? We're made of elements, minerals, systems, and space.
Soften - become soft like the inside of a cocoon. ((soften our grip on outcome, plans thoughts, or whatever it is. When out-of-synch, we often feel rigidity.)) Is there anything in our thoughts, emotions, or actions that we are over-controlling or gripping super tightly? Surrender a little bit and practice trust. See what happens.
Connect - to things that are already in motion, already working, already seeking flow, harmony, and balance. A teenage friend of the family recently joked that she taunts people by saying, "I'm better at homeostasis than you." It is funny because we're all really good at it. We have rivers flowing inside of us to replenish and refresh, and an endocrine system that is inherently resonant and tuning itself in through harmony. Being by or visualizing a flowing river doesn't hurt either. Trees, nature, bodies of water, other sacred spaces...It helps us notice that differences (eg water AND rocks, canyons etc) are needed and included in the process of flow
Acknowledge how you are part of the fabric of life/There is exchange between inside and out. Life is defined by motion. From the body’s trillions of cells to the life-sustaining web of tree roots and fungus that communicate and share nutrients just below the surface of the earth, what is living moves, and as it moves, it seeks/moves toward health, balance, communication, even love. Systems and networks resonate and actually seek harmony.
See eternity in the ordinary

Patience of heaven towards earth
Is the natural way
Abide by the laws of no separation
The grace of your survival & your miracle wings Is packed in with air
The miracle of your flow and connection
Is packed in with water
The miracle of your clarity and insight
Is packed in with light
The miracle of your heart knowing and remembrance
Is packed in with mud wisdom
Wholeness beckons us with our distinct sovereignty and belonging
In this sacred momentous, one and many are the same. Time and timelessness are the same.
